I am outside the 12 month window for the most recent pencil purchase & I really was am not looking forward to buying a 3rd pencil. In fact, the local Apple Stores are temporarily in shutdown except to pick up merch outside their door. I would have included all this info, but didn’t want to write a novel no one would read anyway.Ĭovid-19 says I don’t go to the Apple store at this time. I need to test both the pencil with another iPad, IF they have the same apps on the store display models.Īnd a NEW pencil on my iPad in my apps, to be thorough & test all pertinent permutations. My understanding is that the pencil is a ‘potted’ device & cannot be repaired, is essentially a replace item. I particularily like Comic Draw to do what I need in the most streamlined fashion. Why the tool works in some apps & not others using the same device & pencil is the puzzle, if either one is damaged & the cause of the misfire. The nature of the damage seems counterintuitive. I am just about to the point of deleting all draw & photo apps & reload one at a time, a messy proposition. I don’t believe that I have any brushes cross-referenced between these apps. The problem with freehand drawing has migrated to at least two applications: They have always played well with each other before this.
I haven’t painstakingly ‘tested’ every draw app individually as those temporarily deleted are of marginal value to me.Ĭomic Draw & Procreate are among the useful apps. Graphic, Affinity Photo & Designer are unaffected. I have deleted one application & reloaded it, seeing no change.ĭeleted several other draw or photo editing apps which are rarely used to see if somehow the issue “leaked” from another app-despite these all being apparently sandboxed from one another (?) Before reloading Comic Draw.ĬlipStudio has no issues. I have tried a number of things over the course of a couple of months (hence, this usability issue over at least 3 revs of iOS & after an update of one, if not both apps).
Yes, indeed I do shutdown & restart my iPad this way periodically. Trying to ascertain if anyone else has had the same issue, & whether a cause / solution was discovered.
